Page tree

After accessing an activity where open-ended question scoring is available, OEQS graders land on the main page of the module.

Before navigating to the Scoring tab, OEQS graders need to select from the available Activities, then set up an SCE and a Part using the corresponding drop-downs to load every question item of the checklist.

The activity OEQS graders enter from their Dashboards is always pre-filled in the Activity drop-down. If there is only one SCE and/or part available for open-ended question scoring within the activity, the SCE and Part drop-downs are also auto-filled respectively.

The OEQS grader can select between the 'Questions' or 'Learners' view options to display checklist information in different arrangements.

Questions View

Questions view is the default view when entering the module: the OEQS grader is provided a comprehensive status of each question.

The OEQS grader is informed immediately about:

  • Scored Responses: how many learners received a score for the question
  • All Responses: how many learners have submitted their response to a question so far
  • All Learners: how many learners are required to submit a response to the question
  • Scoring Type: whether a question counts or not towards a learner's final grade

Clicking any one of the Score buttons will redirect the OEQS grader to the Scoring page.

The Responses panel on Scoring will automatically scroll to the question the OEQS grader has clicked on: the selected question will be highlighted, but the Responses panel will also display every other item from the selected checklist.

The Score button jumps to the first learner whose grading is incomplete and skips preceding learners who are completely graded.

Learner View

In Learners view OEQS graders can search and select a specific learner for grading:

Clicking the Score button next to a selected learner will redirect the OEQS grader to the Scoring page.

The Responses panel will automatically scroll to the first question that can be scored but the panel will contain the entire checklist.

Hide Scored Learner(s)

The Hide Scored Learner(s) feature located on the OEQS main page in both views helps OEQS graders stay focused on remaining grading tasks.

When the Hide Scored Learners switch is activated, the number of scored responses of each question item is extracted from the Score button in Questions view:

Learners whose grading is complete are concealed by switching on the feature in Learners view:

Also, when entering the Scoring page while the Hide Scored Learner(s) option is switched on, completely scored learners will be hidden on the Learners panel:
