In performance reports, a dynamic subgroup allows you to filter data based on learner performance for specific learners.

When reviewing a Case Evaluation (such as a SET evaluation), the dynamic subgroup allows you to filter data based on learner response.

Dynamic Subgroup: Responses Report

In the Responses Report below, we can see that 25% of learners selected the Strongly agree response to “Debriefing contributed to my learning.”

To see how that same subset of learners responded to all other questions, click the radio button for that response.

In the Responses Report below, the Strongly agree response has been selected for “Debriefing contributed to my learning.” The report updates automatically to display data for all learners who selected the same response.

To return to the default data display, click the radio button again to deselect the response.

Dynamic Subgroup: Case Item Analysis

In the Case Item Analysis, a few more steps are necessary to filter data by dynamic subgroup:

  1. Select question/criterion.
  2. Select response.
  3. Review dynamic subgroup data.

Select Question/Criterion:

Let’s look at the same data set in the Case Item Analysis: that is, we’d like to see the data only for those learners who selected Strongly agree for “Debriefing contributed to my learning.”

To select a dynamic subgroup in the Case Item Analysis, first select the question/criterion by clicking the radio button on the left.

Select Response:

When you select the question/criterion, a dropdown menu is added to the top of the report which allows you to select the response for the subset of learners whose data set you want to review.

Review Data for Dynamic Subgroup:

The report updates to display the data only for those learners who selected the Strongly agree response for “Debriefing contributed to my learning".

To return to the default data set, select No dynamic subgroups at the top of the report.
