This page explains how to set up a connection with your directory server(s) in order to authenticate, import and synchronize users from your proprietary user database.

Tip

Contact your organization’s network administrator or IT professional for the details of your directory server.

 CAE LearningSpace Experience supports connection to multiple directory servers at a time.

  1. Go to the Directory Access Settings tab in System.
  2. At LDAP Server Settings, add one or more directory servers:

    1. Click New: the drop-down will change to a text field.

    2. Enter the name of your directory server.

    3. Click Add.

      The LDAP Login and Synchronization Settings will become available once a directory server is added.

    4. Repeat the process to add more directory servers:

  3.  Click Test LDAP Connection at every directory serverbefore continuing.
    The system will inform you about a successful or failed connection.

Once your connection is established with the directory server(s):

Available to users with User Manager or Admin privilege.

Set up LDAP authentication for users once a directory server is configured for user authentication.

LDAP authentication must be switched on for users in the Users module to allow them to log in with their directory server credentials to CAE LearningSpace Experience.

LDAP authentication can be managed one user at a time.

If the Authentication ID has been set to Email, you do not have to add anything to the user's profile.

The email address in the user's CAELearningSpace Experience profile is not needed during LDAP Authentication. This also means that users cannot log in with their CAE LearningSpace email and password or modify their credentials.
