The Recording is the module for conducting video recordings in the different rooms of the system. The module also offers features to make annotations or complete data entry during live recording.
Recordings can be started for scheduled events (preliminary set-up required) or can be run on the fly for users selected on the spot.

Center Overview (CO)

Center Overview (CO): The screen that appears when entering the Recording module. It accommodates all the rooms of the system that contain cameras. The room panels of the CO display the feed of the first camera of each room.

IMPORTANT: In case of LearningSpace ONE Box Unit, as that product is a single room construction, there is no CO. That is, when entering the Recording module, the SRV is displayed.

CO Screen Layout

The Center Overview may consist of more than one room tabs - displayed on the right side of the header - including one or more room panels. The number of rooms on each tab is indicated in parentheses. Rooms can be relocated from one tab to another, but cannot be copied.

NOTE: Room tabs can be added by clicking the + icon or deleted by clicking the X of the given tab.

IMPORTANT: Only room tabs that do not contain any room panel can be deleted.

Single Room View (SRV)

Single Room View (SRV): The screen that is displayed when a single room panel is selected in Center Overview, that is, the display of all the aspects of a single room. It shows all the camera and DCU feeds assigned to the room, along with the Annotations and Data Entry tabs, the Recording settings, the recording functions (REC button, STOP button), the Intercom buttons and the Send to Screen functions.

The SRV can be accessed either via the CO, or by clicking the cogwheel on the Recording module on the Dashboard and selecting a specific room or a scheduled event.

SRV Screen Layout

Full screen mode: Clicking the full screen icon in the header displays all the camera feeds in full screen mode. Clicking the full screen icon in a single camera panel displays the single camera feed in full screen mode.

Camera panel: Hovering over a camera panel prompts the camera settings to be displayed. The pan and tilt functions of a PTZ camera can be adjusted by dragging the crosshair towards the desired direction. The zoom function can be controlled by clicking the plus or minus signs in the bottom right corner of the camera panel.

PTZ preset: Saving a particular view of a PTZ camera can be done by clicking the Presets drop-down, typing the desired title in the Add new preset field then clicking the plus button. To select an already added view, click its title in the drop-down.

Audio setting: The audio of a particular camera can be turned on or off by clicking the audio icon in the top right corner of the camera panel.

NOTE: Only one camera of a room can have its audio turned on at a time.

Recording settings: Clicking the Recording settings in the header prompts the Start Recording pop-up window to appear where the Learners, Actors and Facilitators can be added to a recording that has not been scheduled within an event.

Annotations

Annotations are notes, remarks added to specific moments of the recording. The Annotations tab is displayed on the right side of the SRV and is active when the tab name is displayed in blue. The functionality is only available during recording or debriefing. When available, annotations can be added by category by typing the required remark in the Add annotation field.

NOTE: Once an annotation is added, it is reusable, therefore the Add annotation field also functions as a search field for previously added annotations. That is, when typing anything in the field, the system yields all results that have the typed character combination.

Adding an annotation: As annotations refer to learner performance, a learner group has to be assigned to the recording.

Scheduled events - the learner group is selected when scheduling the event (Calendar)

Recording on the fly - the learner group can be added via the Recording settings function

By default, all the learners of the assigned group are added to an annotation, but members can be deselected via the All button in the right side of the Selected Users field by clicking the names in the prompted pop-up.

NOTE: An added annotation refers to the most recently selected learner set, that is, any change made to the selected learners will only apply to an annotation added thereafter.

Data Entry

The Data Entry tab is for filling out the Simulation checklist of the SBE (if any) during live recording. As the checklist is a precondition, Data Entry is only available for scheduled events, the tab is empty when recording on the fly.

Data Entry can be submitted for a single learner or for the whole group assigned to the event. The scope of data entry can be determined via the All button where all learners are added, that is, data entry is set to group grading by default.

Recording control options

The REC button is located in the bottom left corner of the SRV. Once clicked, that is, the recording is started, the time counter starts running. As the Stop button is activated when the recording starts, the recording can be concluded by clicking on it.

Three-Way Intercom

Preset announcements can be sent to three different targets:

Room - announcement directed at the simulation environment

Simulator - announcement uttered by the manikin

Instructor - announcement sent to the instructor's headset

NOTE: The announcements can be added on the Intercom tab of the System module.

Push Content

Push to Screen: Picture files can be sent to different display monitors by clicking the corresponding button...

Simulator data

Waveforms, Trend Charts, Event Logs, CTG: CAE Healthcare simulators associated with a room display their respective data panels.
