How can I save a certain camera angle?

When in SRV (Single Room View), PTZ camera(s) assigned to the room can be adjusted to a customized angle.

IMPORTANT: The controls of the PTZ function are visible only when hovering over the camera feed:

Pan and Tilt movement - by dragging the target sign where desired or using the respective arrows in the bottom right corner

Zoom in and out - by clicking the magnifier with the plus or minus sign respectively

Once the desired view is set, click the Preset button to prompt the Preset menu with the Add new preset field to open.

Type the name of the preset in the field and click the plus button.

TIP: Previously saved camera views can be used by clicking their name in the Preset menu.

How can I switch to fullscreen?

Fullscreen mode is possible for the quad layout (i.e. all cameras assigned to the room) as well as for a single camera feed.

Quad layout fullscreen: click the opposite arrows icon in header to have all the camera feeds displayed on fullscreen.

Single camera fullscreen: click the opposite arrows icon in the top right corner of the camera feed intended to be displayed in fullscreen.

Why can’t I add any learner to the Annotation/ Data Entry panel?

Learners can only be added to a recording, that is, on the Annotation and Data Entry panels, if they are assigned to the recording. Learner assignment can be completed two ways:

    1. scheduling an event (in Calendar), in which case all the learners of the assigned learner group are automatically added when selecting the event in the Event for recording panel of the Start Recording pop-up window
    2. adding learners (by group) in the Start Recording pop-up window once the room is selected in the Room for recording panel

IMPORTANT: As data entry is the completion of a checklist specifically designed for evaluating the learners, the Data Entry panel will only be available if there is a Simulation checklist which is part of an SCE. An SCE can only be linked to a recording through scheduling an event, as a consequence, data entry is only possible via Event for recording.

Why can’t I see anything in the Annotation panel? / Why is the Annotation tab empty?

Annotations are added with respect to learners, therefore, the Annotation panel can only be used if there are learners assigned to a recording.

Why can’t I see anything in the Data Entry panel? / Why is the Data Entry tab empty?

Data entry is the completion of a checklist specifically designed for evaluating the learners participating in a specific simulation event. As a consequence, both a checklist and the assignment of learners are conditions of data entry. That is, the Data Entry panel will only be available if there is a Simulation checklist which is part of an SCE, and that SCE is linked to a recording through scheduling an event. As these conditions are only met within a scheduled event, it follows that data entry is only possible via Event for recording. For scheduling an event, see LINK

Why are some of the buttons in the Intercom panel inactive?

The Intercom feature requires certain technical setup to be completed. For the announcements to be sent, the relevant destination has to be physically connected and assigned within the software.

Room - the Room button sends announcements to the simulation area, therefore a DAK (Digital Audio Kit) has to be connected and assigned to the Room (corresponding to the simulation area) via the Rooms tab of the System module, as a Separate In-room intercom device.

Simulator - a Maestro-ready simulator can be connected and used for sending announcements through the manikin.

NOTE: Once the simulator is connected, the Intercom is also connected for the manikin.

Instructor - a device (e.g. headset) can be connected for direct communication with the instructor, which can be assigned to the room as Separate Hallway intercom device via the Rooms tab of the System module.

For further info on connecting Intercom, see LINK

Why are some of the buttons in the Send to Screen panel inactive?

The Send to Screen option requires the following technical setup to be completed:

    • monitor or decoder connected and assigned to the room
    • content uploaded

IMPORTANT: Content can only be uploaded within an SCE, and for the content to be available, the SCE including that content has to be assigned to the recording. An SCE can only be linked to a recording through scheduling an event, as a consequence, Send to Screen feature is only possible via Event for recording.

NOTE: If a device assigned to the room gets disconnected, the button will still show the name of the decoder, but it will turn gray/ inactive.

Where can I upload content to be used by the Send to Screen function?

IMPORTANT: Content can only be uploaded within an SCE, and for the content to be available, the SCE including that content has to be assigned to the recording. An SCE can only be linked to a recording through scheduling an event, as a consequence, Send to Screen feature is only possible via Event for recording.

Uploading content:

  1. Within the SCE Management module, navigate to the Edit SCE surface of the desired SCE by highlighting it and clicking the Edit SCE button in the top right corner of the SCE Details panel.
  2. Open the Media tab by clicking the corresponding title on the left.
  3. Drag and drop or browse and select the file you intend to upload.

Scheduling an event:

See LINK (scheduling an event in Calendar).

Once an event is scheduled and an SCE is assigned to it that contains the media, the uploaded media file will be available for display during the recording of the event.
