If an asset breaks down, you can reserve it for Repair, by setting its status to "Under Repair" in the Catalog. 

Only assets that are currently in stock (quantity is 1/1, status is Ready) can be set for repair.

During the repair period, no transaction can be performed with the asset.

  1. Open the asset for editing on the Catalog tab.
  2. Select the Repair tab. 



  3. You will be presented with a New Repair form which you need to fill out with details about the repair. 


    Only assets with 'Ready' status can be sent for repair.

    The start date of repair is by default the day you turn in the asset for repair which cannot be modified.

      1. Provide the number of expected days the asset will be sent for repair (Required).

        The Set Repair button at the bottom of the form becomes active once you have defined the number of days needed for repair. 

      2. Add the root cause, repairing technicians, notes and the cost of repair (Optional)

  4. Once you are finished with adding the details, click on the active Set Repair button. 

    • The current repair period will be registered under Repair History with the expected return date.
    • The status of the asset will change to 'Under Repair'
    • The Quantity will change to zero. 

    No transaction can be performed with the asset during the repair period.

  5. Click Save at the bottom of the item Edit Properties window to save your settings.
    A wrench icon will also appear next to the item on the Catalog tab:




    In case the asset is returned from Repair earlier than expected, you can set the status of your asset back to Ready by clicking the Set Ready bottom on the Repair tab.
