To record video or audio in CAE LearningSpace, click the Recording icon on the Dashboard. The Center Overview screen opens, where you see live video or audio feeds from all rooms in your system.

NOTE: If your system is a single-room configuration, the Recording icon navigates directly to the room view.

Privileges to access the module:

1. Admin

Users with Admin privilege can view all Rooms at all times and can access all functions of the Center Overview and Single Room View.

2. Video Full Control

Has access to every room available at Center Overview in Recording
Can control recording in all rooms (start, play/pause, Go live!, stop)
Allowed to edit the Record control panel: add or modify activities \ cases \ groups \ learners \ SPs except
- when RNSA easy login is set up in the room and recording is in progress which has been triggered by video start and stop settings (set in Activities)
- when an event booked in a room is created with Scheduling and has a timeslot structure that controls the video recordings

Can add annotations any time

3. Video Control

This privilege has certain restrictions compared to Video Full Control.

3.1 Rooms without activity added

Users with this privilege have full access to rooms where there is no activity added yet.

In this case, the Video Control user is free to:

launch and control recording
add annotations

without having to define activities \ cases \ groups \ learners \ SPs.

OR

can add any activity s/he is assigned to as a faculty member
have control over the Record control panel
control the recording of the activity s/he added
add annotations to the recordings

3.2 Rooms with an activity

In this case, the Video Control user can only access rooms if s/he is a member of the faculty group of the activity.

If a Video Control user tries to access a room where there is an activity scheduled but not a member of the faculty group, the room appears as "Not Available!" on Center Overview, and s/he cannot enter.

If a member of an activity's faculty group, the Video Control user is able to:

Access the rooms available on Center Overview in Recording
Can control recording in the rooms (start, play/pause, Go live!, stop)
Allowed to edit the Record control panel: add or modify activities \ cases \ groups \ learners \ SPs except
- when RNSA easy login is set up in the room and recording is in progress which has been triggered by video start and stop settings (set in Activities)
- when an event booked in a room is created with Scheduling and has a timeslot structure that controls the video recordings
Can add annotations any time

Notes for Automatic Video Recodings

Recordings are performed automatically:

a. when RNSA easy login is set in a room and video start and stop triggers are set in Activities

OR

b. when an event booked in a room is created with Scheduling and has a timeslot structure that controls the video recordings

In these cases, the Video Full Control and Video Control users still have access to the recording controls, but only need to intervene if necessary.

4. Live Video

privilege to view all rooms at all times EXCEPT for rooms that are currently being used as part of a scheduled event
during a scheduled event, the room is available for a Live Video privilege user who is a member of the group for which the event is scheduled
privilege to view live video on the Center Overview and Single Room View screens and make annotations in Single Room View, however, no access to camera controls

5. FON Data Entry

privilege to view all rooms at all times EXCEPT for rooms that are currently being used as part of a scheduled event
during a scheduled event, the room is only available for a FON Data Entry privilege user who is a member of the group for which the event is scheduled
privilege to view live video on the Center Overview and Single Room View screens and make annotations in Single Room View, however, no access to camera controls
