Within the Catalog module of your Inventory, you can specify the Location of every item.

You can add a new Location category with the help of the Add location option:

Locations can be deleted here as well. Locations, where items are stored, cannot be deleted.

During Check-In, you can specify the Location of an item:

Location management

Location management allows a great level of specificity when setting up storage locations in the Inventory module: users can specify the building, room, shelf and bin of an item.

Filling in each field is NOT obligatory only optional. However, you cannot leave input fields blank between two fields where data is added (i.e. you cannot add Building and Shelf, without filling in the Room field.)

See the detailed Location description in the Location column:

If an item is stored in multiple locations, the Catalog entry for the item will show 'Multiple' in the Location column. To check the exact locations of these items, refer to the Item list tab included for every item.

Filter for Items by Locations

You can filter for Items by Locations in your Catalog:

Home Locations Tab

The latest Inventory module version allows users to search for items more conveniently: it provides you with the location history of items,
offers a more straightforward way of checking in your items or transferring them in bulk to another location.

The location history of consumable and non-consumable items is also at hand while completing check-in transactions.

The Home Locations tab in the Check-In popup lists:

  • every location the item has been checked out from in the past 180 days and
  • every location where the item is currently in stock:

The most recent Check-out location is marked by an '' icon.

The Home Locations tab becomes active only after transactions have already been performed with an item. Before that, only the All Locations tab is displayed as active.

Move Items to Other Locations

With the help of the Move to another location feature of the Item lists, items can be easily transferred from one location to another without conducting multiple transactions.

To transfer multiple items or an asset to another location, access the Move to Another Location option via the Edit button included at each location or batch:

The system will automatically create two transaction logs (one for Check-out and one for Check-in) for any transfer made in the Item List tab so you can trace back every movement inside your Inventory.

Within your Setup sheets, you can also check-out items from multiple Locations:
