This part is for setting up questionnaire-based scoring for the open-ended questions.

Freely worded responses (that is, textual answers for open-ended questions, referred to in LearningSpace as 'text' item type) can be scored by three different methods:

  • direct - directly by selecting a number along a scale provided when setting up the question
  • keyword - where the system automatically calculates a preliminary score based on specific keywords that are set up with determined score value
  • questionnaire - when a set of objective questions (multiple choice - radio button, checkbox) has to be filled out with respect to the textual answer

In case of the Questionnaire score type, in order to have the set of objective questions when completing Open-Ended Question Scoring (OEQS), the questionnaire has to be created on the Special Section tab of a case.

The Case and the Special Section can then be specified when selecting the Questionnaire as scoring method.
