IMPORTANT: There are two kinds of output for the Send to Screen function:

    1. display monitor
    2. TouchPro patient monitor of the JUNO simulator

Content can only be uploaded either within an SCE (for the display monitor) or via Maestro (for the JUNO).

In case of the former, for the content to be available, the SCE including that content has to be assigned to the recording. An SCE can only be linked to a recording through scheduling an event, as a consequence, Send to Screen feature is only possible via Event for recording.

If a JUNO simulator is connected, content uploaded via Maestro will be available for sending.

The following criteria have to be met for the function to be working:

  • content has to be uploaded within a specific SCE or via Maestro (to the JUNO simulator)
  • monitor/ decoder AND/ OR JUNO simulator connected and assigned to the room
  • event has to be scheduled in that specific room with that specific SCE assigned to it

Send to Screen function is only availabe for CAE Simulators, not for non-CAE (third-party) simulators.

Uploading content:

  1. Within the SCE Management module, navigate to the Edit SCE surface of the desired SCE by highlighting it and clicking the Edit SCE button in the top right corner of the SCE Details panel.
  2. Open the Media tab by clicking the corresponding title on the left.
  3. Drag and drop or browse and select the file you intend to upload.

Assigning a device for displaying the content:

  1. On the Rooms tab of the System module, click the cogwheel for the desired room.
  2. In the Room Settings pop-up, select the device intended to be used for displaying the content from the Send to Screen source drop-down(s).

NOTE: Monitors used for displaying content are treated as cameras in LearningSpace, therefore, connecting such a device has to be completed on the Cameras tab.
IMPORTANT: The TouchPro patient monitor can only be assigned as a Send to Screen destination in the Send to Screen source #2 drop-down menu (the second drop-down).
  3. Save the setup.

IMPORTANT: When scheduling the event, make sure that the room to which the displaying device has been assigned is used as the location of the scheduled simulation event.

Scheduling an event:

See the relevant description about scheduling an event.

Once an event is scheduled in a room that has a displaying device assigned and an SCE is assigned to it that contains the media, the uploaded media file will be available for display during the recording of the event.

NOTE: For the JUNO content to be displayable, it is sufficient to connect the JUNO simulator (with media content), no SCE, therefore no scheduling is required; the content will be displayable once the recording is started (manually).
