Participants can only be assigned to Activities if they are put into groups. Users fall into three main categories based on their privileges: Faculty, SPs or Learners.
Groups are also categorized, according to the same categories. The category of a user group is determined by the most common type of privilege in the group:
Faculty: most of the group members are users with faculty privilieges.
SP: most of the group members are users with SP privilege.
Learner: most of the group members are users with Learner privilege.
IMPORTANT: A participant group can only be assigned to one category at once. |
You can assign participant groups to an Activity according to these three categories in the Participants tab.

In each category drop-down, you can list all the groups in which at least one member has the corresponding privilege: |
Depending on their privileges, members of the Faculty group can:
It is not necessary to appoint a Faculty group if your institution is small. Since Admins have full access to the entire system, they can act as a one-user Faculty group to manage every aspect of each Activity. |
Select an SP group if you want to assign Standardized patients to portray the scenarios of the Activity.
If you plan on using manikin(s)/ Simulators for the Activity, you do not have to assign an SP participant group. |

Learners participating in an Activity are required to complete every Case assigned to the Activity.
