This page describes how to add the Cases you want your learners to complete during a specific Activity, to that Activity. 

Cases provide the content to an Activity, medical content through which the purpose of the Activity can be achieved (learning, practicing or testing certain skills or knowledge).
Cases provide background and guidelines to a simulation exercise (SP-learner encounter or learner interaction with a manikin), as well as questionnaires prepared for the different participants of an Activity.

Case Assignment

  1. Select an Activity and open it for editing.
  2. Stay on the Basics tab and go to the Cases field.
  3. Click in the Assign Case field and start typing the name of a Case you would like to add. 
  4. Find your Case in the search results and click on it to add.
  5. The Case is saved to the Activity.
  6. Repeat the above steps to assign other Cases.

To withdraw a Case assignment, hover over the Case and click the red .

Remove every Case all at once from the Activity by clicking the red trash bin icon  in the bottom right corner of the Cases field.

Case not listed in results

If a Case you are looking for does not appear in the search results, the Case was not enabled for Activities.

  1. Switch to a user who has Case Author or Case Author (full control) privilege if you do not have either of these privileges.
  2. Go to Cases and open the Case that did not appear in the search result. 
  3. Tick the 

Creating Alternate Cases

Alternate Cases are multiple Cases grouped together. They are similar to electives: a learner only needs to complete one among the alternate Cases. 

To create Alternate Cases:

  1. Add every Case you want to include in your selected Activity.
    (lightbulb) Follow the steps mentioned above at Case Assignment.
  2. Drag a Case into another one . → The Cases become each other's alternatives.
    (info) Alternate Cases will appear in a joined field.
    (warning) Learners are required to complete only one of these Cases.
