Privacy Mode allows users with the SP or FON Data Entry privilege to block a room's camera views to prevent other users from seeing any live camera feeds on their Center Overview (CO) page or Single Room View (SRV).

Privacy Mode is available from an authorized In-room workstation assigned to the room. The user assigned to the workstation can turn camera views ON and OFF from their Dashboard:

Before recording in the room, be sure to verify that Privacy Mode has been turned OFF or the recording will not show any images.

When Privacy Mode is ON, the camera feeds of the room are disabled:

Privacy Mode blocks only the camera feeds. It does not mute the microphone, which means other users can hear sounds in the room.

The microphone can be muted while Privacy Mode is ON by selecting the “Mute audio when Privacy Mode is on” option* on the General tab in the System module.

Note

*Privacy Mode's mute option applies system-wide; it cannot be adjusted for each room separately.

SPs can take control of a room's camera feeds even if they are not added as a participant to the activity currently running in the room. Privacy Mode is available with or without any activity assigned to the room as long as an In-room station is added to the room in CAE LearningSpace.

FON Data Entry privilege users can also activate Privacy mode when logging in on an In-room station. Privacy mode is available for FON Data Entry users on their dashboard, legacy homepage, classic data entry page and in Recording - Center overview, Single room view.

Troubleshooting

In case the Privacy Mode is not available on a station used by an SP during an event, the cause of the issue can be the following:

The In-room station of the exam room is disconnected.

A workstation might be disconnected because it has been assigned a new IP address.

Solution
