To facilitate the learners' preparation for a simulation event, certain relevant parts of the SCE can be sent to them automatically via e-mail.

The parts of the SCE are determined in the Add Preparation Material pop-up opened by clicking the +Add material button of the Learner Study stage of the SCE Scheduling.

IMPORTANT: In the Add Preparation Material pop-up, all parts available to be sent out are listed without distinction according to users. Therefore, the author of the SCE preparing the SCE Scheduling should use discretion when deciding which part(s) of the SCE would be sent out to the learners.

See Whom are the different parts of preparation material intended to? for the suggested addresses of the different materials.

Objectives: Learning Objectives, Preparation Questions

Patient: Basic and Additional Information

The email can be scheduled in the Timing column of the Learner Study stage of the SCE Scheduling in relation to the start of the simulation event, while the simulation event is scheduled in the Calendar module.

Any email to be sent out has to be activated by clicking the envelope icon and entering a title in the Subject field.
It is recommended that the email template (set up on the Email tab of the System module) be checked and modified if necessary.
Once the email is ready to be sent out, the envelope icon is displayed in blue outline.
The actual sending out will have to be activated by using the Enable automatic e-mail sending toggle when scheduling an event in the Calendar module (on the SCE Schedule tab of the Edit Event pop-up window).

Modifications on an SCE  - including modifying the text of the included Emails - do not affect previously created Events. This means that, modifications only come into force once the  Event has been updated with the modified SCE meaning that the SCE has been re-added to the Event.

NOTE: The emails are sent only to the members of the learner group assigned to the event.
