This page features information about the available options on the Basics tab of an activity. For the step-by-step activity setup guide, continue to How to Create an Activity.

After creating a new activity, you are brought to the Basics tab of the activity editor. Here, you can add the basic information of the activity such as its time range, assign cases, etc.

Activity Title

First off, name your new activity here. The field is required to continue.

Set up the Start and End dates

Start end End dates determine the period while the activity will be running.
Activity-related routines are only available between the activity's start and end dates, such as event scheduling, live video recording of learner-SP encoutners, and data entry on cases.

Assign Cases

Here, select the cases you want your learners to complete within the activity.

Alternate Cases

Alternate Cases mean that only one is compulsory for learners. Group two or more cases together to create Alternate Cases. Learners are required to complete only one of these cases.

The Evaluation Case

The Evaluation Case is a checklist intended to collect learner feedback about the activity learners completed.
As a follow-up to the activity, the Evaluation Case can be sent out to learners with the Evaluation e-mail option, which is available in the Emails tab.
You can put together the activity evaluation checklist within the Case content editor of a case that was assigned to the activity.

Manage Cabinets

At Cabinets, you can move your activity from one cabinet to another or add it to multiple cabinets.

Activity Type

Select the type of the activity from the Type drop-down or create a new type. Activity types are automatically color-coded by the system. The color of an activity will mark every related event blocked off in the Calendar.

Client Resource Usage Log

Select a department or an external client to allocate any activity-related resource usage back to them.

Video Start and Stop Triggers

Select video start and stop conditions: select a user-action from each drop-down that will automatically control the video recording in the room the activity is added to.

General Note for Every Participant

You can add notes to the activity in the Notes field. The notes will be visible to every participant of the activity.

The time frame and the cases that can be used for a specific activity are essential data, therefore required.

The two date selectors are automatically populated with the actual and the next day when the new activity is opened by clicking the New button.

The start and end of the activity can be determined by clicking the selector, then displaying the desired month via the month and year drop-downs, then clicking the exact day.

By default, the start time is 12 am (noon), while the end of the activity will be registered for 11:55 pm of the given date.

IMPORTANT: The selector only saves a certain date if a specific day is selected. That is, if the End date is intended to be changed just by the year or the month, clicking outside the selector will not save the modification.

Cases

Cases provide the content to an activity, medical content throough which the purpose of the activity can be achieved (learning, practicing or testing certain skills or knowledge). Cases provide background and guidelines to a simulation excercise (SP-learner encounter or learner interaction with a manikin), as well as questionnaires prepared for the different participants of an activity.

See How to Assign Cases for details.
