Privacy Mode allows SPs or other participants of a scenario to switch off and on the camera feeds on command using the In-room station inside the room where the scenario is conducted.

From now on, SPs can switch off and on the camera feeds on command inside the room where they are performing scenarios. To access our new Privacy Mode feature, SPs need to log into their accounts using the manually authorized workstation of the room.

Privacy Mode is only available for SPs if the computer they log into is added to the simulation room as an In-room station. Find out more about stations on this page.

Once logged in, SPs can disable or enable the live feed of the cameras of the room right away on their Dashboard:

To display the Privacy Mode feature requires that the computer is an authorized In-room workstation added to the simulation room where the recording will take place. Privacy Mode is available without any activity added to the room, but it also works in case of RNSA setup or with Advanced Scheduling events provided that the computer the SP logs into is added as an in-room station to the room.

When switching on Privacy Mode (disabling the camera feeds of the room), default audio settings are automatically applied: audio can be either disabled or enabled while Privacy Mode is on. As an Admin or System Manager, you can adjust the audio settings of Privacy Mode inside the General tab in System.

Prerequisites:

The in-room station has to be added to a room → Privacy Mode option is only available when the in-room station is added to a room with a working camera. Otherwise, the feature does not become active in the SPs account.

SP needs to log into the in-room station of the activity → the SP can access the Privacy Mode setting right away on their Dashboard. No need to open a checklist to set the option.

With the help of this feature, the participants of the room can look at the in-room station to make sure whether recording is in progress or not.

The Automatic Recording Status box is available on the data entry page of SP checklists.
The SP can leave a checklist open while learners are performing their tasks; meanwhile, the in-room station will show the recording status.

If a recording were stopped or somehow interrupted, the room would be informed immediately by the red recording sign going off.

Accessing Automatic Recording Status

Before opening a checklist, the SP has to make sure that the Start Video Recording box is checked.

To have the Start Video Recording checkbox displayed when the SP is selecting a case and learner, video start and stop triggers related to SP actions need to be defined on the Basics tab of the activity as the following:

  • Video start: SP Checklist display
  • Video stop: SP Checklist submit

  • No labels
