The Data Entry panel in Single Room View (SRV) is a tool designed for FON Data Entry users to submit Faculty Observation and Narrative (FON) checklists while viewing the live recordings of learners.

Important

The Data Entry panel is only available if

FON Data Entry from Dashboard

FON Data Entry via Your Activities

There are two options inside the panel:

a. Data Entry

Here, the FON user can evaluate one learner at a time.

  1. Click on the cogwheel in the upper right corner of the Data Entry panel to display each learner listed for FON evaluation.
The learners featured on the current recording will appear.
  2. The learner whose FON checklist is opened for data entry is highlighted in blue.
To fill out the FON checklist of another learner, select their name in the header.
  3. Start the data entry.

Move your cursor to the edge of the Data Entry panel until it turns into a double-headed white arrow. Increase or decrease the width of the panel.

  1. Click Next if the FON checklist consists of more than one section until you get to the last one.
  2. Click Submit

Note

If the Responses are final checkbox is selected at the Faculty Observation and Narrative (FON) part of the current case, the FON user can only submit a learner's FON checklist once.
If the checkbox is not selected, the FON user can return to and resubmit a learner's FON checklist an unlimited number of times.

b. Group Grading

This option is only active if more than one learner is added to the recording.

If the FON user would like to give exactly the same feedback on more than one learner's performance, s/he can switch to Group Grading.

  1. Click on the cogwheel in the upper right corner of the Data Entry panel to display each learner listed for FON evaluation.

The learners featured on the current recording will appear.
By default, every learner is highlighted in blue.
  2. (Optional) Click on a learner's name to deselect if you do not want to include them in the evaluation.
  3. Start the data entry. Select the answer at each question you would like to apply to everyone.

    Note

Some questions might be disabled for editing. The following messages might appear under them:

    1. (warning) Incomplete responses
Some learner(s) already have a FON response for the question, some don't.
    2. (warning) Various responses
Every learner has a FON response for the question but the responses vary.

Click on Set them the same to make the questions editable.

(warning) In this case, Group Grading overrides existing FON submissions of a learner.

Warning - Responses Are Final for the Faculty Observation and Narrative (FON) Checklist

Group Grading can only be applied with restrictions if the Responses are final checkbox is selected at the Faculty Observation and Narrative (FON) part of the current case, and there is at least one learner who already has a submitted FON checklist among the learners selected (highlighted in blue) for group grading.

In such case Group Grading is only available if:

    • none of the learners have FON checklist submission yet or
    • learners have unanimous data entry which means learners with FON part submission have the exact same responses for each question item
  4. Submit the checklist.
Every learner highlighted in the header of Group Grading will get the same FON score.

The system will display a green message filed with the name of the learners whose data entry has been successfully submitted.
