What does RNSA Login mean?

(info) With RNSA Login, you can have your learners and SPs land on the data entry page of the Activity instead of their dashboards, right after they have logged in to the system on a manually authorized workstation.

A manually authorized workstation is a computer physically located in a simulation room that is assigned to the room within the system as well. Manually authorized workstations can be used as part of a Running Non-Scheduled Activity (RNSA).

RNSA Login is also required when you want to control recording with the video start and stop conditions set up in the Basics tab of your Activity.

Set up RNSA Login

To set up authorized workstations in a room, first, there has to be a Running Non-Scheduled Activity (RNSA) assigned to the room – make sure before you continue.

There are three kinds of workstations you can set up:

  1. In-room,
  2. Hallway, or
  3. Additional stations.  → For details about each station type, click here.

For RNSA Login, you need to set up an In-room station for SPs and/or a Hallway station for learners.

IMPORTANT: All workstations need to be authorized manually for each room.

To get started, go to the physical RNSA room in your training center then log into LearningSpace on a computer

  1. Go to System
  2. Go to Stations
  3. Add the computer to the system by clicking Add This Computer
  4. Name your computer workstation (mandatory)
  5. Select at least one type of station

Select all of the types so you can set up the computer as any kind of workstation later on.

  6. Click Save

Now you can add the computer as a workstation to the RNSA room.

  1. Stay in System and switch to Rooms
  2. Find your RNSA room
  3. Click on the cogwheel icon of the room for Room settings
  4. Define the workstation type.

To set up a workstation for
    a. learners, select the name of the computer from the Hallway Station drop-down;
    b. SPs, select the name of the computer from the In-room Station drop-down.

    Important

(info) Learner RNSA Login only works with Hallway configuration.
(info) SP RNSA Login only works with In-room configuration.

(warning) If users log into a workstation that does not match their privileges, they will land on their dashboard as usual. Also, user-action-triggered automatic video recording will not work either.

(tick) If needed, your computer can have multiple workstation functions at the same time. To apply multiple functionalities, select the same computer in the station drop-downs of your choice.

  5. Once finished, click Save
The system informs you that your room settings are saved.

Data entry is not restricted to authorized RNSA workstations unless the below option is applied:

Restrict data entry to authorized workstations

To restrict data entry to the manually authorized workstation of a Running Non-Scheduled Activity:

  • Make sure RNSA Login is set up correctly (as explained above)
  • Open the Activity of the room for editing in Activities
  • Select the 'Data entry only allowed from manually authorized workstations' checkbox on the Options tab of the Edit Activity pop-up

If the above conditions are set, learners and SPs can only complete their data entry from the workstations assigned to the Activity.

IMPORTANT: Video recordings get tied to the RNSA Activity/Case/Learner/SP if started by the user action, but do not get tied if started via the Recording module or by the push button.
See How to Set Up User-Action-Controlled Video Recording.

Automatic User-Forwarding to Data Entry

With automatic user-forwarding, you can have your learners and SPs land at the data entry page instead of their dashboards, right after they have logged in to the system on a manually authorized workstation of an Activity.
