Privacy Mode is a feature available at authorized In-room workstations for users with SP or FON privileges.
The Privacy Mode feature is automatically enabled and SP toolbar is displayed, when
If there is at least one camera in the room that does not support Privacy Mode, the SP toolbar will not be accessible. |
The SP toolbar located on the Dashboard allows SP or FON users to enable Privacy Mode, by blocking live camera feeds in the room to prevent others from seeing them:
In-room Station: A workstation located inside the simulation room that SPs can use to submit their checklists. |
Follow the steps to configure an In-room workstation:
Select In-room Station as the functionality of the workstation.
Authorized workstations can then be assigned to a room in the Rooms tab. |
By default, when turned ON, Privacy Mode is set up to auto-mute the microphones within the exam room. This means that, not only the active camera feeds are blocked but no sound is picked up from the room, either.
To disable (or enable) this option:
Privacy Mode's auto-mute setting can only be applied system-wide; it cannot be adjusted for each room separately. |
In the latest versions of LearningSpace, Privacy mode can be controlled by using a Push-button within the physical rooms. Once a Push-button has been connected to a DAK (Digital Audio Kit) physically, and the DAK is configured on the Cameras tab, it can be selected as a
from the following two drop-downs of the Room Settings pop-up:
A Push-button hardware can only be assigned to a room once. Once assigned, it cannot be selected from the other drop-down any longer - otherwise the following error message comes up: One Push-button can only be added to one room within the system. |

Once above conditions are met, Privacy mode can be activated by pushing the Push-button located in the room.
Light indication colors of the Push-button functioning as a Privacy control button change according to the following statuses:
White: NO PRIVACY - Button is ready to use, idle
Blue: LOADING - Request is sent, waiting for response
Pink: PRIVACY ON - Privacy mode is active
Privacy mode managed by the SP's via the LearningSpace user interface also influences the light indication colors as described above. |

In case any of the Cameras within the room do not support Privacy Mode, the following warning message appears on the top of the Rooms settings tab:

An In-room workstation might be disconnected because it has been assigned a new IP address.
Add the device manually to the system in the Stations tab, then assign it again to the room. |
