Usability improvements of the Center Overview (CO) page

Quick and Easy Access of Live Activity Control (LAC) from CO

Starting from this release, CAE LearningSpace user will be able to open Live Activity Control (LAC) from the Center Overview page (CO) of the Recording module by a single click:

  1. Go to Recording.
  2. On the Center Overview page, click on Open Live Activity Control.
  3. LAC opens in a pop-up.
  4. The newly opened LAC pop-up can be popped out to a seperate tab (enabling the users to easily move the new tab to a secondary screen).
  5. If Open in new browser tab is clicked, it opens Live Activity Control in a new tab and the browser will go to the new tab, closing the previously opened LAC pop-up.

Only users with appropriate privileges can access LAC from the CO →   such as Admin, Video Control, Video Control (full control), Live Video, Intercom.
(warning) Live Video users can see the rooms, but cannot record or perform any other actions there!

New design of the controls/layout introduced:

If you go to Classic view→  Live Activity Control you can see the Room Manager link at the bottom of the page and thus be able to navigate to the Room Manager page directly from there.

(info) Learn more about this on the Classic View pages.

Increased Display Limit of Rooms on one tab

From now on, users will be able to add 10 rooms to a given tab on the Center Overview page:

  • The default number of rooms for a tab stays 12 (the same as before), but this number can be increased to 30.

  • On iPads, the limit and defaults are 6 rooms.

  • In Internet Explorer, the limit and defaults are 10 rooms.

An Option to Rename Tabs

With this new release, the option to rename tabs on the Center Overview page got introduced as well.
The tabs have been moved to the “bar” below the header, along with the Add and Edit buttons.

  1. Click the Edit button (pencil icon )
  2. Pop-up opens
  3. Input fields or Tab names appear
  4. Add or Edit name
  5.  Close the pop-up with the Save or Cancel buttons.

Once you have added some tabs, you can change the names of the tabs by clicking on the Edit Tabs icon and performing the necessary changes with in the pop-up.

(warning) If you add a new tab but do not add rooms to it, the tab will not be there once you reload the page or log in again.

(info) Tab names are saved per user.

The maximum length for a tab name is 20 characters. It is also possible to enter unique characters.
Tabs with the same name are not possible to be saved.

The Save button saves the data, so the next time you open it, the rewritten tab names will appear in the "bar" and in the pop-up as well.

By using the Cancel button, the rewritten names will be discarded and the unchanged state of the tab will be kept.

More Preset Reports to be Exported to Excel

From this Release on, the following Preset Reports can be exported into an Excel (xls) file as well, for more convenient management and an essentially easier utilization of the exported data in applications like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

XLS reports can display score/percentage values with up to 2 decimals - if set accordingly in the Activity Reporting Setup.

Video Thumbnail feature

A new thumbnail preview feature is being introduced to our existing video player component in the Single Room View of the Video Review module. When hovering over the video progress bar, a thumbnail (640x360) will immediately appear at a certain position - with the aim to give users a visual preview of a specific timestamp in the video without the needto click or manually scrub through the video.

NOTE: The thumbnail will always be available for the first active camera of the layout. When changing the thumbnailed camera to a different one, the thumbnail will change to the new camera.

The yellow thumbnail icon in the lower left corner of the camera stream indicates if the thumbnail is active:

When hovering over annotations, the thumbnail displayed will also reflect the color of the annotation:

If - for technical reasons - thumbnails can not be loaded immediately when the video loads or starts, any of the following previews will be displayed:

Jump Forward/Backward Hotkey

As a new feature, users of CAE LearningSpace can easily jump forward or backward in any video recording (in Video Review), by simply using the right or left arrows on their keyboard. By pressing the respective key, the video will jump 15 seconds forward or backwards, respectively.
